- In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Carefully fold egg whites into the lemon batter until just combined.
- Pour mixture into prepared dish and place dish in a larger pan filled with hot water halfway up the sides.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the top is lightly golden and set.
- Remove from water bath, cool slightly, and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
