- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 2–3 tbsp honey
- 1–2 tbsp heavy cream or milk (as needed)
- Pinch of salt

- Preheat oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup muffin pan with cupcake liners.
- Mix dry ingredients: Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and finely ground lavender.
- Cream butter, sugar, and honey: Beat butter, sugar, and honey until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
- Combine: Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Fill and bake: Divide batter evenly among liners. Bake for 18–22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool completely on a wire rack.
- Prepare buttercream: Beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, honey, cream, and salt. Beat until smooth and fluffy.
- Frost cooled cupcakes and garnish with a light sprinkle of culinary lavender if desired.
Notes
Use culinary-grade lavender only, as other varieties may taste bitter. Finely grind lavender to evenly distribute flavor. Avoid overusing lavender to keep the flavor subtle and balanced. Frost only after cupcakes are completely cooled.
