- 1 (21-ounce) can cherry pie filling
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2β3 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 175Β°C (350Β°F). Grease a 15×10-inch jelly roll pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, vanilla, and almond extract.
- Gradually add flour and salt; mix until combined.
- Spread 3 cups of the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Spoon cherry pie filling evenly over the batter, avoiding the edges.
- Drop remaining batter by small spoonfuls over the cherries.
- Bake for 35β40 minutes, or until golden brown and set. Cool completely in the pan.
- Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and almond extract to make the glaze. Drizzle over cooled bars, then cut into squares or bars.
