  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Make bread batter: In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla and sour cream.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in blueberries gently.
  7. Make cream cheese filling: Beat cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla until smooth.
  8. Assemble: Spread half the bread batter into the loaf pan.
  9. Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the batter.
  10. Top with the remaining bread batter and smooth the surface.
  11. Bake: Bake for 55–65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the bread portion comes out clean.
  12. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

If using frozen blueberries, do not thaw them before adding to the batter. For extra flavor, drizzle cooled bread with a simple powdered sugar glaze.
