- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 lime, juiced
- Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

- Add liquids & spices: Pour in broth, diced tomatoes, cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer: Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20–25 minutes until sweet potatoes are tender.
- Add beans: Stir in black beans and simmer another 5–10 minutes.
- Finish: Add lime juice and adjust seasoning to taste.
- Serve: Garnish with cilantro and avocado slices if desired.
Notes
For a creamier texture, blend a portion of the soup before adding the beans. Add chipotle peppers for a smoky spicy kick.
