Scale
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped (or 1/2 cup frozen, thawed and well-drained)
- 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 2 tbsp cream cheese, softened
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp dried oregano
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare filling: In a bowl, mix spinach, feta cheese, cream cheese, garlic, black pepper, and oregano until well combined.
- Roll pastry: Lightly roll out the puff pastry sheet on a floured surface.
- Spread the spinach and feta mixture evenly over the pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Roll and chill: Tightly roll the pastry into a log. Refrigerate for 15–20 minutes to firm up for easier slicing.
- Slice: Cut the log into 1/2-inch slices and place them flat on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush tops lightly with beaten egg.
- Bake: Bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Make sure spinach is well-drained to prevent soggy pastry. For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or grated Parmesan cheese. These pinwheels can be assembled ahead and baked just before serving.
