  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp butter (for finishing)

  4. Add liquids: Stir in brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and beef broth.
  5. Add Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, cinnamon, chili flakes, salt, and pepper.
  6. Simmer: Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 15–20 minutes until rhubarb breaks down and sauce thickens.
  7. Blend (optional): For a smoother sauce, blend with an immersion blender or leave slightly chunky for texture.
  8. Stir in butter at the end for a glossy finish.
  9. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  10. Serve warm over grilled steak, pork, or roasted vegetables.

Notes

This sauce can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 5 days. It also works great as a glaze for ribs or roasted chicken.
