  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until combined and form into 6–8 oval patties.
  2. Place patties in the slow cooker in a single layer.
  3. Top with sliced mushrooms and pour beef broth over the patties.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours until patties are cooked through and tender.
  5. Optional: Mix cornstarch with water and stir into the gravy for thickening. Cook 10–15 minutes more.
  6. Garnish with parsley and serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.

Notes

For a richer gravy, add 1/4 cup heavy cream at the end. You can also add carrots or green beans for a one-pot meal.
