Description
A festive fall sangria infused with pumpkin, apple cider, and warm spices—served in a carved pumpkin for a show-stopping holiday centerpiece. Perfect for Halloween and Thanksgiving gatherings.

- 1 medium pumpkin (cleaned and hollowed, to use as serving bowl)
- 1 bottle white wine (750 ml, such as Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio)
- 1/2 cup brandy
- 1/4 cup orange liqueur
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1/4 cup pumpkin puree
- 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey (optional)
- 1 apple, thinly sliced
- 1 pear, thinly sliced
- 1 orange, thinly sliced
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1 cup sparkling water or ginger ale (for topping)
Instructions
- Prepare the pumpkin by cutting off the top and scooping out the seeds and pulp. Rinse the inside well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together wine, brandy, orange liqueur, apple cider, pumpkin puree, and maple syrup until smooth.
- Add sliced apple, pear, orange, cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, and cloves.
- Pour the sangria mixture into the hollowed pumpkin. Cover and refrigerate for 2–4 hours, or overnight for best flavor.
- Just before serving, add sparkling water or ginger ale for fizz.
- Ladle into glasses and serve chilled, garnished with fruit slices.
Notes
Serve the sangria directly from the carved pumpkin for a dramatic presentation. To keep it chilled longer, place the pumpkin in a large bowl filled with ice.
