This warm and comforting Pear Crisp is filled with tender spiced pears and topped with a buttery oat crumble. A cozy dessert perfect for fall or winter nights.

- 6 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (for topping)
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
- Toss sliced pears with lemon juice, 1/3 cup brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread evenly in the dish.
- In a bowl, combine oats, flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and nuts. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle oat topping evenly over the pears.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, until topping is golden and pears are tender.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
For a vegan version, use coconut oil or vegan butter and serve with dairy-free ice cream. Swap in maple syrup for a richer sweetness.
