  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (Italian or plain)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp dried basil or 1/4 cup fresh chopped basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tbsp olive oil or butter for frying
  • Lemon wedges for serving (optional)

  2. Set up a breading station: one plate with flour, one bowl with beaten eggs, and one plate with breadcrumbs, Parmesan, basil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then egg, then breadcrumb mixture, pressing to adhere.
  4. Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (165°F internal temperature).
  5. Drain on paper towels and serve with lemon wedges if desired.
