- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (Italian or plain)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tsp dried basil or 1/4 cup fresh chopped basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3 tbsp olive oil or butter for frying
- Lemon wedges for serving (optional)

- Place chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound to 1/2-inch thickness.
- Set up a breading station: one plate with flour, one bowl with beaten eggs, and one plate with breadcrumbs, Parmesan, basil, salt, and pepper.
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then egg, then breadcrumb mixture, pressing to adhere.
- Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (165°F internal temperature).
- Drain on paper towels and serve with lemon wedges if desired.
Notes
Optional: Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F for 15–20 minutes for a lighter version. Serve over pasta, salad, or with roasted vegetables.
