Description

Minted Red Sangria brings a fresh, herbaceous lift to traditional sangria. Juicy citrus, ripe berries, and a handful of cooling mint come together in this bright and refreshing wine punch — ideal for summer parties, BBQs, or brunch al fresco.


Ingredients

  • 1 bottle (750ml) dry red wine (like Garnacha or Pinot Noir)
  • ½ cup brandy
  • ¼ cup fresh orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (optional)
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup strawberries, halved
  • 1 small bunch fresh mint leaves (plus more for garnish)
  • 1 cup sparkling water or club soda (added before serving)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Base: In a large pitcher, mix red wine, brandy, orange juice, and sweetener. Stir until fully combined.
  2. Add Fruit & Mint: Add sliced orange, lemon, strawberries, and a handful of fresh mint leaves. Gently muddle the mint with a spoon to release its oils.
  3. Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 2–4 hours to allow the flavors to infuse.
  4. Spritz & Serve: Just before serving, stir in sparkling water or club soda and ice. Garnish with extra mint and citrus slices.

Notes

For the best mint flavor, lightly bruise or tear the mint leaves before adding. Swap sparkling water with lemon-lime soda for a sweeter finish, or add a splash of elderflower tonic for a floral twist.
