- Beat in eggs and vanilla extract.
- Whisk together cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder; gradually fold into wet ingredients.
- Stir in chocolate chips if using.
- Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
- Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
- Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Do not overbake to maintain fudgy centers. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
