Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper for a slight kick

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine maple syrup, bourbon, and butter.
  2. Stir continuously until the butter is melted and the mixture begins to simmer.
  3. Add Dijon mustard, salt, and cayenne (if using), and whisk until smooth.
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 2–3 minutes, stirring frequently, until slightly thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before drizzling over your dish.
  6. Use immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Notes

For a non-alcoholic version, replace bourbon with apple cider or additional maple syrup.
