  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • For the Honey Buttercream:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp honey
  • 12 tsp milk (if needed for consistency)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional garnish: dried lavender buds or a drizzle of honey

  1. Infuse milk: Warm milk gently, add lavender, and steep for 10 minutes. Strain and cool.
  2. Preheat oven: 175°C / 350°F and line cupcake pan with liners.
  3. Mix dry ingredients: Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Cream butter & sugar: Beat butter and sugar until fluffy.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla and honey.
  6. Alternate adding dry ingredients and lavender-infused milk until smooth.
  7. Fill liners 2/3 full and bake 18–20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool completely before frosting.
  9. Make honey buttercream: Beat butter until creamy, then add powdered sugar, honey, salt, and milk as needed. Whip until fluffy.
  10. Pipe frosting onto cooled cupcakes and garnish with dried lavender or a drizzle of honey.

Notes

Adjust lavender amount carefully to avoid overpowering flavor. Chill buttercream if too soft before piping. Store in the refrigerator and bring to room temperature before serving.
