- 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce or tamari
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 green onions, sliced for garnish
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

- Prep chicken: Season chicken with salt and pepper.
- Cook chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook 5–7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Make sauce: In the same skillet, add garlic and sauté 30 seconds. Stir in honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Simmer 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Combine: Return chicken to the skillet and toss to coat with sauce. Cook 1–2 minutes until heated through and sticky.
- Serve: Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve with rice, noodles, or vegetables.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in half of the honey garlic sauce for 30 minutes before cooking. Adjust sweetness or spice to taste.
