  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 2 carrots, julienned or shredded
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: cooked rice or noodles for serving

  1. Heat sesame oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add ground meat and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
  2. Add onion, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Pour in chicken broth, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Add cabbage, carrots, and peas. Cook 5-7 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with green onions. Optional: serve over rice or noodles.

Notes

You can swap pork for chicken, turkey, or tofu. Add a splash of sriracha for a spicy kick.
