Description

A refreshing sangria with a warm twist of ginger and spices. Perfect for cozy gatherings, this drink combines wine, citrus, and a hint of spice for a festive flavor profile.


Ingredients

  • 1 bottle red wine (750 ml)
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur
  • 1/2 cup ginger beer or ginger ale
  • 2 tbsp honey or simple syrup (optional)
  • 1 apple, thinly sliced
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, thinly sliced
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 45 whole cloves
  • Ice cubes, as needed

Instructions

  1. In a large pitcher, combine red wine, brandy, and orange liqueur. Stir well.
  2. Add apple, orange, lemon slices, fresh ginger, cinnamon sticks, and cloves.
  3. Sweeten with honey or simple syrup, if desired. Mix gently.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 2–4 hours (or overnight) to allow flavors to meld.
  5. Just before serving, add ginger beer or ginger ale for fizz and spice.
  6. Serve chilled over ice, making sure to include fruit in each glass.

Notes

For a lighter version, use white wine instead of red. You can also substitute ginger beer with sparkling water and a splash of ginger syrup.
