- 1 box German chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients listed on box: eggs, oil, water)
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: extra chocolate chips for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare cake mix according to package instructions. Bake in a 9×13-inch pan. Allow to cool slightly.
- Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the warm cake.
- Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over the holes to soak into the cake.
- In a saucepan, combine coconut, pecans, butter, and vanilla. Cook over medium heat until melted and slightly thickened.
- Spread coconut-pecan frosting over the cake while still warm. Let cool completely.
- Optional: sprinkle chocolate chips on top before serving. Slice and enjoy!
