- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère or Swiss cheese
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)

- Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Caramelize onions: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook for 15–20 minutes until soft and golden.
- Add garlic: Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Build sauce: Add chicken broth, heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Combine: Stir in uncooked orzo and cooked chicken.
- Transfer: Pour mixture into a greased baking dish.
- Add cheese: Sprinkle Gruyère and mozzarella evenly on top.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10–15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
Notes
Stir halfway through baking if needed to ensure even cooking of the orzo. For extra flavor, broil the top for 2–3 minutes at the end. Rotisserie chicken works great for a quick shortcut.
