This Easy Sweet Potato Casserole with Canned Yams is the ultimate holiday side dish β creamy, buttery sweet potatoes topped with a crunchy pecan and brown sugar streusel! Perfect for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner.

- 2 cans (29 oz each) of canned yams, drained
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup milk or heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
- Topping:
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mash the drained canned yams until smooth.
- Add melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix until well combined.
- Pour the sweet potato mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- In a small bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, pecans, and melted butter to make the topping. Mix until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the topping evenly over the sweet potato mixture.
- Bake uncovered for 30β35 minutes, or until the topping is golden and crisp.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
