Scale
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
Instructions
Instructions
- Cook shrimp: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season shrimp with salt and pepper, then cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp and set aside.
- Sauté garlic: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add broth: Pour in chicken or vegetable broth and simmer 2–3 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Make cream sauce: Lower heat to medium, stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Cook 2–3 minutes until the sauce is creamy and smooth.
- Combine: Return shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat with sauce. Cook 1–2 minutes until heated through.
- Finish: Add lemon juice and chopped parsley. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Serve: Serve over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread for a complete meal.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine with the broth. You can also sprinkle extra Parmesan or chili flakes when serving. Leftovers keep well in the fridge for 1–2 days; reheat gently to avoid overcooking shrimp.
