- 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup ricotta cheese or cottage cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 12 oz pasta (penne or rigatoni), cooked al dente
- 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning

- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with onion and garlic until browned. Drain excess grease.
- Stir in marinara sauce, crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, ricotta (or cottage cheese), and sour cream until smooth.
- Lightly grease the crock pot. Spread a layer of meat sauce on the bottom.
- Add half of the cooked pasta, then spread half of the cheese mixture over it.
- Top with more meat sauce and sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Repeat layers, finishing with cheese on top.
- Cover and cook on low for 3–4 hours or until hot and bubbly.
- Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, use a mix of ground beef and Italian sausage. You can also add spinach or mushrooms for a veggie boost.
