- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped pecans or almonds
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, melt the butter, sugar, and salt over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture reaches 300Β°F (hard crack stage).
- Remove from heat and quickly stir in the vanilla extract.
- Pour the hot toffee mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly.
- Immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the toffee and let them melt. Spread the chocolate evenly with a spatula.
- Top with chopped nuts and gently press them into the chocolate.
- Allow to cool completely, then break into pieces and enjoy!
