- 40 saltine crackers (1 sleeve)
- 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Optional: chopped nuts, holiday sprinkles, or sea salt for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with aluminum foil and arrange saltine crackers in a single layer.
- In a medium saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil and let boil for 3 minutes without stirring.
- Pour the hot toffee evenly over the saltine crackers and spread with a spatula.
- Bake for 5β7 minutes until bubbly.
- Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee. Let sit 2β3 minutes, then spread melted chocolate evenly.
- Optionally, sprinkle with chopped nuts, holiday sprinkles, or sea salt.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour until chocolate sets. Break into pieces and serve!
