- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp almond extract (optional)
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 21 oz can cherry pie filling
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2β3 tbsp milk (for glaze)
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease a 15×10-inch jelly roll pan or line with parchment paper.
- Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, vanilla, and almond extract.
- Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until well combined.
- Spread two-thirds of the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Spoon cherry pie filling evenly over the top.
- Drop the remaining batter by small spoonfuls over the cherries.
- Bake for 30β35 minutes, or until golden and set. Cool completely in the pan.
- In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make a glaze. Drizzle over cooled bars before cutting.
