- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chocolate melts for filling
- Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla extract and mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheet. Press your thumb into the center of each ball to create an indentation.
- Fill each indentation with chocolate chips or chocolate melts.
- Bake for 12β15 minutes, until cookies are set but still soft. Cool on a wire rack.
- Optional: Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
