A cozy sangria infused with the warm flavors of chai tea, red wine, citrus, and brandy. Perfect for fall and winter gatherings, it’s a unique twist on the classic sangria with aromatic spices.

- 1 bottle red wine (750 ml)
- 1/2 cup brandy
- 1/4 cup orange liqueur (optional)
- 1 cup cooled brewed chai tea (strong)
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (to taste)
- 1 apple, thinly sliced
- 1 orange, thinly sliced
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 3–4 whole cloves
- 2 star anise pods
- Ice cubes, as needed
Instructions
- Brew a strong chai tea and let it cool completely.
- In a large pitcher, combine red wine, brandy, orange liqueur, and cooled chai tea.
- Sweeten with honey or maple syrup, stirring until dissolved.
- Add apple, orange, lemon slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise.
- Refrigerate for 2–4 hours (or overnight) to allow flavors to infuse.
- Before serving, stir gently and pour over ice in glasses.
Notes
For a white wine version, swap the red wine for Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio. You can also use chai concentrate instead of brewed tea for a stronger spice kick.
