- 2 Earl Grey tea bags
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt

- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 1/2 cup blackberry puree (strained)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3–4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- Heat milk until warm and steep Earl Grey tea bags for 10 minutes. Cool completely.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt together.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and cooled tea-infused milk until combined.
- Fill liners 2/3 full and bake for 18–22 minutes. Cool completely.
- For frosting, beat butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar.
- Mix in blackberry puree and vanilla. Beat until fluffy.
- Pipe or spread frosting onto cooled cupcakes and garnish with fresh blackberries if desired.
Notes
Strain blackberry puree to remove seeds for a smooth buttercream. For a stronger tea flavor, steep an extra tea bag. Store cupcakes refrigerated and bring to room temperature before serving.
