  • 1 loaf brioche or challah bread, cubed (about 10 cups)
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • For the crumble topping:
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 4 tbsp butter, cold and cubed
  • Optional: maple syrup and powdered sugar for serving

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and arrange the cubed bread evenly.
  2. Sprinkle blueberries over the bread.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. Pour evenly over the bread mixture.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight to soak.
  5. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
  6. Prepare the crumble topping by mixing flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over casserole.
  7. Bake uncovered for 45–50 minutes until golden and set in the center.
  8. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. Drizzle with maple syrup or dust with powdered sugar.
