Description
Berry‑Forward Red Sangria is a bold and juicy version of the classic Spanish punch, loaded with fresh strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries. It’s vibrant, refreshing, and perfect for summer parties or brunches.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bottle (750ml) fruity red wine (like Garnacha or Zinfandel)
- ½ cup brandy
- ¼ cup orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or triple sec)
- ½ cup orange juice
- 2 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- ½ cup fresh raspberries
- ½ cup fresh blueberries
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1–2 cups sparkling water or lemon-lime soda (added before serving)
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Build the Base: In a large pitcher, combine red wine, brandy, orange liqueur, orange juice, and sugar. Stir until sugar dissolves.
- Add Fruit: Add strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and lemon slices. Stir gently to combine.
- Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 2–4 hours, or overnight, to let flavors meld.
- Finish & Serve: Just before serving, add sparkling water or soda and ice. Stir and serve with fruit in each glass.
Notes
Use ripe, in-season berries for the best flavor. You can substitute frozen berries if fresh aren’t available—just thaw before using. For a sweeter version, use lemon-lime soda instead of sparkling water.
