500g beef brisket, cut into chunks
1 liter beef broth
60ml soy sauce
40g brown sugar
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, chopped
1 star anise
2 bay leaves
5g black peppercorns
Salt to taste
Cooked rice, for serving
Green onions, chopped for garnish


Instructions

In a pot, combine beef, beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, onion, star anise, bay leaves, and peppercorns.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer until beef is tender, about 1.5 to 2 hours.
Season with salt to taste.
Serve the beef and broth over cooked rice, garnished with chopped green onions.
