Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour for 1–2 minutes to make a roux.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk and cream until smooth and slightly thickened.
  5. Stir in cheddar, mozzarella, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until creamy.
  6. Combine pasta with cheese sauce and pour into prepared baking dish.
  7. Optionally, sprinkle panko breadcrumbs mixed with melted butter on top for a crunchy topping.
