- 1/2 tsp baking soda

- Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients just until combined.
- Chill dough: Refrigerate dough for 30 minutes for best texture.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Scoop dough into 1½-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on baking sheets.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set and centers remain soft.
- Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
Roll cookie dough balls in sugar or top with heart sprinkles before baking for extra Valentine flair. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
