- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup whole milk (warm)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 cloves garlic, roasted or minced (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or parmesan (optional topping)
- Chives or parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Boil potatoes in salted water until fork-tender, about 15–20 minutes. Drain well.
- Mash potatoes until smooth, then mix in butter, sour cream, cream cheese, and warm milk.
- Season with salt, pepper, and garlic (if using). Adjust creaminess with more milk if needed.
- Spread mashed potatoes into a greased baking dish.
- Top with shredded cheese if desired.
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until heated through and golden on top.
- Garnish with chives or parsley before serving.
