- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs

- 1/2 tsp salt

- 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, chopped

- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
- Gently fold in chopped strawberries.
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 60–70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Optional: dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
For evenly distributed strawberries, toss them lightly in flour before folding into the batter. This cake can also be baked in a bundt pan for a festive presentation.
