- About 24 strawberry-flavored candy kisses or chocolate candies

- In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in egg and vanilla extract until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
- Remove from oven and immediately press a strawberry kiss into the center of each cookie.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. For a festive touch, sprinkle a little powdered sugar over the cookies before serving.
