  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Set oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 8-inch cake pans.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream butter & sugar: In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
  4. Combine: Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, mixing just until combined.
  5. Cinnamon swirl: In a small bowl, mix cinnamon and brown sugar. Divide half the batter between the pans, sprinkle with half the cinnamon sugar, then add remaining batter and top with remaining cinnamon sugar. Swirl gently with a knife.
  6. Bake: Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before serving.

Notes

Top with cream cheese frosting for an extra indulgent twist. This cake stays moist for up to 3 days when stored in an airtight container.
