- 2 lbs flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup beef broth
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce (optional but recommended)
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

- Add sliced beef to the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, garlic, ginger, hoisin sauce, and red pepper flakes.
- Pour sauce over the beef and stir to coat.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
- Whisk cornstarch with water and stir into crockpot.
- Cook an additional 20–30 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
- Serve over rice or noodles.
Notes
For extra vegetables, add sliced bell peppers or broccoli during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
