- 2 lbs (900 g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into chunks
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 can (15 oz / 425 g) tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup heavy cream or coconut cream
- 1/4 cup butter (unsalted)
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh cilantro, chopped, for garnish

- Prepare chicken & aromatics: Place chicken, onion, garlic, and ginger in slow cooker.
- Add spices & sauce: Stir in tomato sauce, garam masala, paprika, turmeric, cayenne (if using), salt, and pepper.
- Cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until chicken is tender.
- Add butter & cream: About 15–20 minutes before serving, stir in butter and heavy cream. Adjust seasoning as needed.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh cilantro. Serve with basmati rice or naan bread.
Notes
For a richer flavor, marinate chicken in yogurt and spices for a few hours before cooking. Leftovers taste even better the next day.
