Ingredients
Scale
- For the Brownie Base:
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)
- For the Tiramisu Layer:
- 8 oz (225g) mascarpone cheese, softened
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons strong coffee or espresso, cooled
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder (for dusting)
Instructions
- Prepare the Brownie Layer: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment. In a bowl, mix melted butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; whisk until smooth. Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and chocolate chips. Spread in pan and bake for 25–30 minutes. Let cool completely.
- Make Tiramisu Topping: Beat mascarpone, powdered sugar, vanilla, and coffee until smooth. In another bowl, whip heavy cream to stiff peaks. Gently fold into mascarpone mixture.
- Assemble: Spread tiramisu cream over cooled brownies. Smooth the top evenly.
- Chill & Finish: Chill for at least 2 hours. Before serving, dust generously with cocoa powder.
Notes
Use espresso powder for a deeper coffee flavor. For cleaner slices, chill longer and wipe your knife between cuts. Store leftovers refrigerated for up to 3 days.
