- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup crushed candy canes, nuts, or sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
- Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer on the prepared pan.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly. Bring to a gentle boil and cook for 3 minutes.
- Pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the crackers and spread gently.
- Bake for 5 minutes, until the mixture bubbles. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Let sit for 2 minutes, then spread the melted chocolate evenly. Top with candy canes, nuts, or sprinkles if desired.
- Chill for 1–2 hours or until firm. Break into pieces and enjoy!
