Description

This classic Red Wine Sangria is fruity, refreshing, and perfect for parties or summer gatherings. Made with red wine, brandy, and fresh fruit, it’s a festive drink that’s easy to prepare ahead of time.


Ingredients

  • 1 bottle (750 ml) dry red wine
  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons sugar or honey (optional)
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 apple, diced
  • 1/2 cup fresh berries (optional)
  • 12 cups lemon-lime soda or sparkling water
  • Ice cubes, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large pitcher, combine red wine, brandy, orange juice, and sugar (if using). Stir until sugar is dissolved.
  2. Add sliced orange, lemon, apple, and berries (if using). Mix gently.
  3. Refrigerate for at least 1–2 hours, or overnight for best flavor.
  4. Just before serving, stir in soda or sparkling water for a refreshing fizz.
  5. Serve over ice, garnished with fruit slices.

Notes

For a stronger flavor, let the sangria sit overnight before adding soda. You can also swap brandy with rum or triple sec for a twist.
