Ingredients
Scale
- 1 store-bought pound cake or angel food cake, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 2 cups fresh blueberries
- Optional garnish: extra berries, mint leaves
Instructions
- Make the Whipped Cream: In a large bowl, beat heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
- Prepare the Cream Layer: In another bowl, beat cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth. Fold in half of the whipped cream mixture until combined.
- Layer the Trifle: In a trifle dish or large clear bowl, start with a layer of cake cubes, then spoon on a layer of the cream mixture, and top with a layer of strawberries and blueberries. Repeat the layers, ending with whipped cream on top.
- Decorate: Garnish with extra berries and mint if desired. For a flag look, arrange strawberries as stripes and blueberries in a corner.
- Chill: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to let the layers set and flavors meld.
Notes
