- In a separate bowl, cream butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in egg, milk, vanilla extract, and red food coloring until well combined.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
- Cover and refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop dough into 1-inch balls and roll generously in powdered sugar.
- Place cookies 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until cookies are set and crinkled on top.
- Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Chilling the dough helps prevent spreading and creates the best crinkle effect. For extra richness, add 1/4 cup white chocolate chips to the dough.
