Description
Red Sangria Spritz is a light, effervescent take on traditional sangria. With bold red wine, fresh citrus, and a splash of sparkling water or Prosecco, this sipper is crisp, fruity, and ideal for sunny afternoons or relaxed evenings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bottle (750ml) dry red wine (like Grenache, Pinot Noir, or Lambrusco)
- ½ cup orange juice (freshly squeezed preferred)
- ¼ cup orange liqueur (Cointreau or triple sec)
- 1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup (optional)
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1 apple, chopped
- 1–2 cups sparkling water or chilled Prosecco (added before serving)
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Build the Base: In a large pitcher, combine red wine, orange juice, orange liqueur, and sweetener if using. Stir until well mixed.
- Add the Fruit: Stir in orange slices, lemon slices, and chopped apple.
- Chill: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to develop.
- Spritz & Serve: Just before serving, top with sparkling water or Prosecco and plenty of ice. Garnish with fresh mint and serve immediately.
Notes
For a stronger fizz, use Prosecco or sparkling rosé. Keep extra fruit frozen and use as ice cubes to avoid dilution. Light-bodied reds like Pinot Noir work best to keep this sangria spritz bright and refreshing.
