Description

This classic Red Sangria is refreshing, fruity, and perfect for parties. Made with red wine, brandy, citrus, and fresh fruit, it’s the ultimate crowd-pleasing drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) dry red wine (such as Rioja, Merlot, or Cabernet)
  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or Triple Sec)
  • 1/4 cup sugar (or to taste)
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 lime, thinly sliced
  • 1 apple, cored and diced
  • 12 cups sparkling water or lemon-lime soda (for topping)
  • Ice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large pitcher, combine red wine, brandy, orange liqueur, and sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
  2. Add the sliced orange, lemon, lime, and diced apple. Stir to combine.
  3. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight) to let the flavors meld.
  4. Before serving, top with sparkling water or soda for a refreshing fizz.
  5. Serve over ice, making sure to spoon fruit into each glass.

Notes

For a sweeter sangria, add more sugar or use soda instead of sparkling water. You can also add berries, peaches, or pineapple for extra flavor.
