Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugar, pumpkin puree, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and all spices. Gradually fold into wet ingredients until just combined.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
  7. Allow to cool completely before slicing into squares. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

For extra richness, swirl in a cream cheese mixture before baking. Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
