Description
These Pumpkin Patch Deviled Eggs are adorable, festive, creamy, and perfect for fall gatherings, Thanksgiving, or Halloween parties. Classic deviled eggs are dyed orange and topped with chive ‘stems’ for a fun pumpkin look—easy to make, always a hit, and irresistibly delicious!
Ingredients
-
- For the Eggs:
- 12 large eggs, hard-boiled and peeled
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon vinegar or lemon juice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Orange food coloring (gel works best)
- For Decoration:
- Fresh chives (cut into small “stems”)
- Extra paprika for dusting
Instructions
- Slice hard-boiled eggs in half lengthwise and gently remove the yolks to a bowl.
- Mash yolks with mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, vinegar or lemon juice, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika until smooth.
- Add a few drops of orange food coloring to the yolk mixture and blend until evenly colored.
- Spoon or pipe the orange filling back into each egg white half, creating small “pumpkin-like” ridges with a toothpick if desired.
- Insert a small piece of chive on top of each deviled egg to resemble a pumpkin stem.
- Dust lightly with paprika for color and serve chilled.
Notes
For extra pumpkin definition, lightly drag a toothpick along the filling to create ridges. Use gel coloring for a richer orange color. You can make the eggs a day ahead—just store tightly covered and add the chive stems right before serving. Garnish with parsley for a pumpkin patch effect!
