- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs, one at a time, and then add vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips evenly.
- Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
- Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden but centers remain soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra soft cookies, slightly underbake by 1–2 minutes. Freeze dough balls for easy future baking. Add chopped nuts for extra texture.
